Securing an emphatic round win at the weekend’s second round of Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship, Geraldine based Hayden Paddon has further extended his title advantage at the International Rally of Whangarei over 18 – 19 May.
Leading the Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship field at today’s start to the second round, Geraldine’s Hayden Paddon holds a margin of 2min25.6sec over second placed Rotorua driver Sloan Cox.
This weekend’s second round of the Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship (NZRC) heads to Northland’s fast and flowing roads being used for the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship event held from 17 to 19 May.
Winning the weekend’s opening round of the Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship seemed easy for past two-time champion Hayden Paddon from Geraldine. He and Blenheim based co-driver John Kennard finished 3mins 55sec ahead of Masterton’s Richard and Sara Mason after the 807.28km long Drivesouth Rally of Otago held over the Saturday and Sunday. Third overall, 2mins 56sec behind the Subaru of the Masons was four-wheel-drive rookie Ben Hunt and Tony Rawstorn of Nelson.
